How in the world did a girl from Burnt Corn, AL end up in the suburbs of Waxahachie, TX? I tell you it wasn't sheer luck. It was aligned with God's favor and my Village. This move wasn’t done lightly. It was months of research on the school district and neighborhood in which we were eyeing. Long and sometimes exhaustive conversations about finances and modifications to our current day-to-day lifestyle; coupled with the stressors of being pregnant with a then six year-old, new dog and a non-existent spouse, due to work travel. It was the perfect storm, as God knew the Village was what I needed. I needed this to raise my sons with a support system that would also support my mental health and our marriage.
